Equality 2025 is a big step forward towards the government meeting its commitment to implement the recommendations in the Prime Minister’s Strategy Unit report ‘Improving the Life Chances of Disabled People’.
Equality 2025 will carry out the promise to disabled people that they will have a direct voice into government to help us design polices and services that they really want.
The recruitment for this new body is very important and I cannot stress strongly enough how much we want to work with disabled people from all communities with different experiences and skills. We are looking for a member who understands about the cultural differences experienced by the Deaf community as well as having an understanding of experiences of other disabled people. You do not have to have experience of working with government before. Your skills and experiences are essential to making this UK wide Network successful and believable with the people it is there to serve, disabled people.
